FAQ

PPWR, answered.

What is the PPWR?
Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste. It replaces the old directive and applies directly in every Member State, with obligations phasing in from 2026 onwards.
Who is affected?
Manufacturers, importers, distributors and fulfilment providers placing packaged goods on the EU market. Your exact obligations depend on your role, which kolum assesses per company and article.
What is the EU Declaration of Conformity?
A formal statement that your packaging meets the PPWR requirements, backed by technical documentation. It must be kept for 5 years, or 10 years for reusable packaging.
Does PPWR work with the rest of kolum?
Yes. PPWR runs on the same platform and shared article and supplier data as EU CBAM, UK CBAM and EUDR, so you only maintain your master data once.

The rulebook is complex.
Our solutions aren't.

See how PPWR runs inside kolum, with your own packaging data.
