Calculator

Estimate the CBAM certificate cost of your imports in a few fields, based on official EU default values and the current certificate price.

Since 2026, EU importers are required to pay for the embedded CO₂ emissions in certain goods that are in scope of the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).

Our calculator gives you a clear estimate of what those CBAM costs will look like for your business. Just select the country of production, the product you’re importing (via CN code), the quantity and our calculator does the rest.

Behind the scenes, the calculation is based on:

  • The embedded emissions intensity of the selected product (based on official EU default values for each CN code and/or country or based on your own actual values),
  • The benchmark emissions level for that product category (used to determine how much is exempt),
  • The current CBAM factor (which reflects the partial phase-in of charges, 97.5% in 2026),
  • And the official carbon price per t CO₂ for Q1 2026, €75.36.

Please note:

a) Values we used within the calculation do apply at the moment, however, they can still be subject to change in the future. We will of course update this calendar accordingly at given time.

b) While CBAM allows for deductions based on verified carbon pricing already paid in the country of origin, those mechanisms are not yet fully defined. For this reason, this calculator does not currently factor in foreign carbon costs.

c) The accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the information provided is without guarantee.

The cost is only step one

CBAM isn’t a number. It’s a process.

Supplier data, quarterly reports, declarations, deadlines: the cost you just calculated comes with an obligation attached. kolum runs that process end to end, for every shipment and every supplier.
